Difference between Macro and Parameters

  3. Difference between Macro and Parameters

In simple terms, parameters collect information, and macros pass that information. For instance, if an advertiser wants to gather the click ID from the publisher, the advertiser provides parameters, and the publisher uses a macro in the postback URL.

Macros are always associated with parameters to transmit information.

For example:

https://advertisername_cpid={campaign_id}&CiD={click_id}

In the URL above, cpid and CiD are parameters, while {campaign_id} and {click_id} are macros.

Note: In Appcarry, the click_id is crucial and mandatory for tracking conversions.
